As the cloud storage has increasingly become important and crowded, Amazon has also decided to take on the stage with its own dedicated mobile app.
The amazon Cloud drive app is available for download on android, iOS and Kindle devices. It let users to save documents on the Amazon’s cloud account.
The concept is exactly similar to what is being offered by Dropbox and Google Drive. The app was first spotted by TechCrunch. It provides a sophisticated and integrated interface unlike the old Amazon service that required users to open a different app for photos and videos.
If you have already bought storage from one of the existing cloud service providers, you won’t have any reason to switch except that it has one huge leverage: price. Unlimited document storage is available for $60/year and unlimited photo storage can be purchased for $12/ year.
If you buy both, that’s an average of $6/month for never running out of cloud storage. It competes quite well with Dropbox, Google and Apple iCloud plans. Google will charge you $100/month for 10TB of storage. Apple and Dropbox charge $10 for a month of 1TB storage.
